Osborne earns a spot on PFF's Top College Performers of Week 1 list

SMU offensive lineman Justin Osborne is receiving a lot of attention from football enthusiasts these days. On Tuesday, he was named to the Pro Football Focus College Team of the Week for his performance in week one of the 2023 season. Osborne helped the SMU offense secure a 38-14 victory against Louisiana Tech in the season-opener on Saturday. The Mustangs amassed a total of 457 yards in offense, with career highs from Preston Stone and LJ Johnson Jr. contributing to the win.

Osborne has had an impressive career so far. He was named to the 2023 preseason Outland Trophy Watch List and was recognized in several other categories as well, such as the All-AAC Athlon Sports First Team, Phil Steele preseason All-AAC Third Team, DCTF All-Texas First Team, East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 list, and CFN First Team All-AAC Team. He was selected for second team honors on the All-AAC, DCTF All-Texas, and Phill Steele All-AAC teams, following his performance in the 2022 season.

SMU's next game is going to be a challenge, as they take on the 17th-ranked Oklahoma team on Saturday at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+. It will be exciting to see how Osborne and the rest of the Mustangs perform against such a formidable opponent. With his impressive track record so far, there's no doubt that Osborne will continue to be a key player to watch as the season progresses.
